Sriman Nadana Gopala Nayagi Swamigal Sathsangam 22nd Anniversary Function
Chennai, Vasantham colony’ West Anna Nagar, Sriman Natana Gopala Nayaki Swamigal Sathsangam’s 22nd anniversary function was celebrated grandly on 6.1.2013 at Sri Bala Murugan Temple, Thentral Colony, Anna Nagar, Chennai -40. The function started about 9.30 a.m. with prayer. The function was presided over by Lion Thiru M.G.Subramanian, President of Erode Sourashtra Sabha, in the presence of Sri Nayaki Pada Dhooli,Thiru K.R.Krishmachary. Thiru T.M.Surendran, former President of Erode Sourashtra Sabha and Dr.Amarnath Sowli were special invitees. Hari Kathai Rathnam Sri Kasthuri Bhagavathar of Madurai discoursed on Nayaki Swamigal’s life and mission. About 200 persons attended the function
Thiru T.M.Surendran expressed his happiness about the annual report read in sowrashtra.
Thiru M.G Subramanian appreciated the way in which Sathsangam is functioning harmoniously, for more than two decades, wished that the SathSangam should grow still in a bigger way to reach more people in this capital city.
Thiru K.R.Krishnamachari was glad to participate in the function and he requested to organize a music festival , in the city, in lines of Thiagarajar Mahothsavam, to popularize Songs of Nayaki Swamigal, Venkataramana Bhagavathar,
Also efforts should be taken to conduct musical programmes in Sangeeta Sabhas in Chennai, to popularize Songs of Nayaki Swamigal, Venkataramana Bhagavathar,
Dr. Amarnath Sowli expressed his happiness for the function and informed that our Sourahtra musicians should come forward to perform Nayaki Songs in pure carnatic music, and he will do necessary help to encourage them.
A book release function of “Perumaimigu Sourahstrar: Oar Arimugam “(Glorious Sourahtra People: An introduction) authored by Thiru K.R.Sethuraman, (Sahithya Academy Bhasha Samman Awardee) held at Bangalore on 6.1.2013. The author desired to release the same book simultaneously at Chennai also in this function. Accordingly the book was released by Thirumathi Ramea Sumathi, under the chairmanship of Thiru K.R.Krishnamachary.
Thiru J.K.Mohanram of Nayaki Sath Sangam, received the first copy of book .
Thiru K.K.Dinakaran,Ex president of Sri Prasanna Venkateswara temple, Choolai, spoke in the function and offered to allocate a portion of his house as a class room for learning Sourashtra script. He enthusiastically told that by next year all the people attending the function should know the Sourashtra script. He also initiated the noble work of learning Sourashtra script by requesting the people to give their names immediately so that class also can be started immediately. More than ten people have given their names. Also they have promised to bring their friends and relatives to the script class.
Thiru.R.R.Kubendran who thanked Thiru K.K.Dinakaran, for his offer, told the gathering that he is ready to teach the Sourashtra script anywhere in Chennai Metropolitan Area if anybody arranges a class room with a black/white board and with atleast ten people to learn.
Thiru T.R.Sathiamoorthy of Sath Sangam, told the gathering that the Sathsangam does not ask for donation individually; but the people understood the service rendered by them and offered donations voluntarily. It was also informed that 2014 is the 100th memorial day of Natana Gopala Nayaki Swamigal and it is proposed to celebrate in a grand manner. Therefore the Sathsangam requested the devotees to contribute their efforts to make it a grand success.
Some of the audiences present.were offered to sing a song (Nayaki Kirthanai) on the stage.
Then prizes were distributed to those participated in the spiritual quiz programme. and the Song Program. The function concluded with Vote of thanks by Thiru Malli D.Gopinath. Mahaprasadam was distributed to all devotees.
